Empties - April & May 2019

As I always start these posts, I have to say they are my most favourite to read and write about. With such a large collection of make-up and skincare, we don't always finish what we start or put things to the side to try the newest item out there. Empties let me show what I actually used up and lets me share what I actually think, because sometimes our opinions change when the products get "older" or seasons change. This is what I used up in the months of April and May, 2019.

Firstly, I can't believe I forgot to take a group shot of all the products. So I will just share by groups.

Urban Decay - All Nighter Cherry Scented Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
This is supposed to be like the original, but cherry scented. Although its kind of undetectable. It works well, but I wouldn't repurchase this size or scent.

Benefit Cosmetics - They're Real Mascara
I've had this for awhile. I remembered I had the sample and wanted to give it another try but it was all dried out. So I had to toss it.

Lancome - Bi-facil Double Action Eye Makeup Remover
This was one of those duo-phase (I think that's what its called, but it had an oil layer and you have to shake it before using. I liked this makeup remover however I prefer the Marcelle version from Shoppers Drug Mart just a little more.

Essence - Hold and Curl Mascara
Another dried out mascara, another toss. I didn't even get to try this one out either.

Equate - Cotton Rounds
I love using these for many purposes. Removing nail polish, for toner, and even soaking up scentsy wax. These are from Walmart and are pretty cheap. I already have a backup!

Sephora Collection - Rose Cleansing Wipes
These cloths were on the more oily/dry side of wipes, and also thick. There was way too much fragrance and these would irritate my eyes and skin. They also weren't the greatest for removing makeup. I wouldn't repurchase these.

Younique - Royalty Moisturizer Boosting Gentle Cleanser
I actually really enjoyed this cleanser. It was moisturizing and creamy and was quite gentle. It didn't make my skin feel tight afterwards either. I really liked this but wish it was a little more affordable.

Farmacy - Green Clean Cleansing Balm
I really really like this. So much that I bought this size after trying a sample size. I love how soft and gentle this balm is. The only complaint I have is that since this is so light, I find I went through it so quickly and that sometimes I miss getting all my makeup off. I think I prefer clinique's version much more.

Shiseido - Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate
I'm not entirely sure of the purpose of this, but my skin loves it and feels much more hydrated/nourished when I use it, so I had to repurchase another bottle.

La Roche Posay - HyaluB5 Serum
I didn't feel like this did much for my skin and the sample was small. Based on that, I wouldn't be interested in repurchasing or trying again.

Fresh - Rose Floral Toner
I liked this toner because it helped my skin feel hydrated but I prefer toners that are a little more on the thicker end. This was nice, but I wouldn't repurchase it because I prefer other formula's more.

SK-II - Facial Treatment Essence
This felt nice on the skin but I don't understand the cult following. It felt like a toner and I didn't notice a difference with using it or not in my routine.

TheFaceShop - Rice Ceramide Moisturizing Toner
This toner has the consistency I have come to love in a toner. It's thicker than most and I feel like it really rehydrates my skin. When I repurchased this last time, the sales rep told me that TheFaceShop was discontinuing the Rice Ceramide line. I haven't checked to see if its still available online anywhere. If it is, I will repurchase. If not, I better start looking for a new toner!

Farmacy - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask
This was quite interesting. The formula looks and feels like honey, but as you apply it to your face, it starts to warm up and turn white. It actually warms up on your face. I really enjoyed it and would use it again, however the pace I go through masks like these, wouldn't be worth the splurge. But I would definitely welcome more sample sizes in my life!

Devacurl - No Poo Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser
I was getting into the idea of embracing my wavy hair so I bought some products from the devacurl line. I wanted to love this conditioning cleanser but I found that every time I used this, it made my scalp super itchy and oily. Some posts online stated that your hair is detoxing when this happens, but I'm not sure I believe that. I wouldn't repurchase this again because my scalp was just not a fan.

Pantene - Alcohol Free Hair Spray
This was decent. Its just a hair spray. Not much else to say.

Batiste - Dry Shampoo
I like this dry shampoo, but its easy to go overboard and use too much. Sometimes it feels gritty but it does a good job at making my hair feel a little less gross. I would consider repurchasing.

Redken - Color Extend Blondage Color Depositing Shampoo
I really really liked this shampoo. It was pigmented enough to bust the brass and the bottle lasted quite awhile. One of the best blonde shampoos I've used, I've already repurchased.

Ignore the state of these containers. I've had them both for way too long.

Lush - Shower Jelly in Pink Custard
These shower jellies are quite an interesting texture, and they do lather up well with a loofah however I just didn't reach for it as much as I thought I would. It smelled good  and worked well but I think I prefer traditional shower gels.

Lush - Body Conditioner in Snow Fairy
Omg I just love this scent. I actually managed to use about 90% of this up but I felt it was time to toss the insides (and recycle the jars!) I believe I got these back in 2017 and the best before date was sometime in 2018. I did enjoy it when I remembered to use it.

Well this just wouldn't be an empties post if there weren't any of these Bath and Body Works - Foaming Hand Soaps. I enjoyed all 3 of these scents. Black cherry merlot is at the top of the list for me. I have repurchased these many times and have a few in my backup.

Scentsy Wax Bars in Blue Raspberry Ice, Black Raspberry Vanilla and Southern Sweet Tea
These are all great scents. Blue raspberry ice reminds me of a blue icee.. however quite lightly scented. Black raspberry vanilla is easily in my top 10 and  its just so powerful. I also enjoy using this scent in the washer whiffs and fabric spray. Southern sweet tea reminds me of lemon iced tea. All fruity scents perfect for heading into summer.

For April and May I managed to use up 26 products. Not bad!
