June 2017 - Empties!

Another month has come to an end, and we're officially more than half way through 2017. It's amazing how quickly time passes now that we're older. As always, empties are my favourite kind of post, I like being able to see what I used up, and I love reading/watching other peoples empties posts/videos. Without going on too much more (because I have quite a few empties this month!) let's just get into it!

There is a lot of skin care this month!

Clinique - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
I absolutely loved this cleansing balm. It didn't leave my skin feeling oily, and it actually washed off all of my makeup, mascara included. I've already repurchased a full size version.

Boscia - Sake Treatment Water
I got this as a point perk from Sephora, and I've used it before in the past. I don't feel like it does very much for my skin, but it does feel nice, and gives a quick pick me up. I used this as a toner. I don't think I'd repurchase, but I would maybe use 100 points again on it.

Peter Thomas Roth - Blue Marine Algae Intense Hydrating Mask
I loved this mask! It made my skin feel so hydrated. It had a slightly cooling effect as well. I would love to repurchase a full size, but it's a little out of my price range, especially at the moment, but I would definitely consider purchasing it again.

Pur-lisse - Pur-Delicate Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser
This cleanser was nice and gentle on the skin. I did need to use an oil cleanser with it first to remove makeup, but this was a nice second cleanse product. I don't think I would repurchase this though, because I'm really enjoying the Fresh Soy Cleanser... but if this popped up in a Boxycharm, or Topbox, I wouldn't be mad!

The Body Shop - Vitamin E - Intense Moisture Serum
When I first purchased this, I didn't feel like it did much for my skin. But now that I've finished it, it feels like theres some extra hydration missing in my skin. I have a full review going up soon, so I won't go into too much detail, but I think I may end up repurchasing this!

Drunk Elephant - T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum
Ah, my full review is here. The glycolic serum was my most favourite item out of the four minis. I'm going to repurchase this at some point I think. I still have to put the Sunday Riley products to the test, so it really depends on those. But if I find that I liked the Drunk Elephant glycolic serum more, I will be buying a full size. Probably in November though when the VIB Rouge sale is on.

Shiseido - Benefiance - Concentrated Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream
I enjoyed this eye cream. It cleared up some red dry patches I was having around my eyes. It is pretty old so I probably shouldn't have reached for it, but I really liked how much it hydrated the area. And I could wear it under makeup as well.

Younique - Uplift Beauty Serum
My full review is here. I felt like this was a waste of money. I had no results from it, and it's just expensive. I wouldn't repurchase again.

TheFaceShop - Chia Seed- No Shine Hydrating Cream
This worked well under makeup, but I didn't find it made my skin look matte, or no shine. It was a gel consistency. I wouldn't repurchase this.

GlamGlow - ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment
This also was a waste of money. I purchased it awhile ago, and used it for a little. I didn't see any results, so I put it away. I didn't want to keep using a $79 cream and finish it quickly. I forgot about it, pulled it out to use it again, and was not happy with it. I saw no hydration in my skin. It never really fully absorbs into your skin. It has a cooling feeling, and you cannot put it in the eye area. I would not repurchase this in the future.

GlamGlow - Volcasmic - Matte Glow Moisturizer
The concept of this moisturizer was interesting, but I didn't find that it was really matte and glowy. It did mattify some areas on the face, but I just didn't find that it did anything great. It does smell like orange creamsicle which was enjoyable, but I wouldn't repurchase this.

GlamGlow - Step 1 - DreamSerum
I didn't notice any change in my skin using this. I wouldn't repurchase.

GlamGlow - Step 2 - DreamSeal
I'm not quite sure what this was supposed to do, but I would apply it after using the DreamSerum. I wouldn't repurchase.

LaRoche Posay - Intense Soothing Face and Eye Cream
This cream was thick, and felt nice on the skin. But it was a one time sample, and I didn't notice a change in my skin - I didn't expect to since it was one use. I wouldn't repurchase.

Acti-Labs - Diamond Lustre Fluoride Tooth Cream
I bought this from a direct sales company when we did a sales swap. It works okay, but it didn't whiten my teeth like it claims it would. It wasn't expensive, and I have 2 more tubes to get through, but I wouldn't repurchase in the future.

Pur Cosmetics - Makeup Sponge
I love how these are angled, because it makes getting into those tight spaces on your face (under the eyes, side of the nose) much easier... but the texture of this sponge is just not good. It soaks in all of the foundation, and it just doesn't look as flawless on the skin as the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, or the original Beauty Blender. This came as a three pack in the April Boxycharm. I'll use them to get through them, but when it comes time to buy new sponges, I'll be looking elsewhere.

Lush - Bubble Bar in Bar Humbug
I love this scent and purchased a couple last year when they had their BOGO offer. It lasts forever and can be broken up into many pieces. It smells like fennel/black licorice kind of. It's perfect for Fall/Winter - or all year round if you're like me! I'll be repurchasing at the end of the year.

Lush - Bath Bomb in Chick N' Mix
This was the cute bath bomb that was in 3 pieces. Chicken face, bottom, and a tiny egg in the middle.. and they made a large chicken egg. It was super cute, and I got a few uses out of it as well, it smelled great as well! I'd consider repurchasing next Spring.

Equate - Quilted Pads
These makeup remover pads are great to always have on hand. These are from Walmart and are affordable. I like them a little more than the dollar store versions. I'll repurchase next time I'm there, but in the mean time I have some Shiseido facial cotton to get through.

TheFaceShop - The Solution - Nourishing Face Mask
I absolutely love The Solution masks, especially this nourishing face mask. They make my skin look and feel so hydrated and nourished. I will be repurchasing in the future.

TheFaceShop - Real Nature - Face Mask Honey
Another mask I love. I have a ton of these Real Nature masks to get through because I stocked up in December. Honey is one of my favourites. I don't need any more any time soon, but I will eventually buy more in the future.

Boo Bamboo - Bamboo Fiber Charcoal Sheet Mask
I received this in a PR package, and it fit amazing. It's probably one of the better fitted masks to my face. It made my skin feel hydrated, and calmed some of the redness. I'm going to look into purchasing more in the future. And, they're all natural!

Hair One - Hair Masque with Olive Oil
I picked this up from Sally's when I went in to find a toner for my orange hair. I saw that these hair masks were on their clearance shelf for 99 cents. I only grabbed two because I wasn't sure how well they would work. It was just okay. I'd rather splurge and get the Amika hair mask in the future.

Scentsy - Wax Bars
Jumpin Jelly Bean - Crisp pear and apple, zesty lemon, and sugar evoke sweet childhood memories.
I really enjoy this scent, it's perfect for spring/summer. I wouldn't say it smells like a jelly bean, but you definitely get the crisp pear scent. I wanted to use this up because it's getting old, but it still smelled amazing. I'll repurchase sometime in the future.
Watermelon Mint - A chilled slice of sweet watermelon, sprinkled with bracing fresh mint, makes a refreshing summer treat.
This is lightly watermelon scented, with an even lighter note of mint. I enjoyed this fragrance, but it's also getting old so I wanted to use it up. Unfortunately it's no longer available, but I'm sure Scentsy has or will carry something similar in the future.

SuperTarts - Wax Cube in Zombie Brains
This smelled amazing! The notes were Keylime, pomegranate and fluffy cotton candy. It definitely was more pomegranate than anything else, but it was so fruity! I really enjoyed this!

The Body Shop - Home Fragrance Oil in Spicy Berry
This oil is old. I forgot that I even had it. I found it while tidying and decided to put it into one of my old reed diffusers (that I also found) with the wooden sticks. I placed it on the shelf in my closet and it smells great. I wouldn't repurchase though because I don't use fragrance oils anymore.

The next items are actually tosses...
TheFaceShop - Volumizing Mascara
I liked this when it was fresh, but it dried out very very quickly. I couldn't use it anymore so it went to the toss pile. I wouldn't repurchase this because I have other favourite mascaras.

Marula - Foaming Cleansing Oil
This didn't really foam like it says it would. It was heavily scented, and I just found it didn't do much. It says not to use it on the eye area, which kind of defeats the purpose of an oil cleanser to me. Each time I used it, my skin felt tight and dry, and I just didn't like it. I tossed it half way through.

Beenigma - New Zealand Bee Venom & Maruka Honey - Face Cream
I got this in a subscription box way longer than I can even think of. I held onto it because there were so many good reviews about it online. I finally decided to use it, and it was dried up. Like crusty old jello. I didn't get to try it at all.

Nars - Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly
This is my favourite concealer, and I was starting to scrape the sides. I noticed I've been getting some dry itchy patches on my eye lids and under eyes and I can't really pinpoint why it's happening or which product is making it happen. So I decided to toss whatever was left of this concealer. I don't think it's the culprit but it's probably not very sanitary to use anymore. I have a few other concealers to get through anyway, so it doesn't hurt that it's going.

This month I used up 31 products with the tosses included! That's pretty much one a day! I'm happy about that! I'm trying to focus on using more trial sized items just to get rid of some clutter. Hopefully July is just as successful!
