July 2017 - Empties!

Another month has come to an end, and we're at the end of July already! It's amazing how quickly time passes now that we're older. As always, empties are my favourite kind of post, I like being able to see what I used up, and I love reading/watching other peoples empties posts/videos. Without going on too much more (because I have quite a few empties this month!) let's just get into it!

I wish I had used up some more products this month, but I'd say I made a good dent into some sample sized items. I'm trying to work on samples/deluxe samples (not foils) to make some room, because it feels like I'm overrun with them.

TheFaceShop - Herb Day - Lip and Eye Makeup Remover Wipes
These were from TheFaceShop 2016 Advent Calendar. These were on the smaller size for wipes, and had a strong floral fragrance. They were good for removing swatches, but I didn't like them for my face. I would not repurchase.

L'Oreal - Hydra-Total 5 - Ultra Even Routine - Toner
This was from an Influenster campaign, and looking back at the original post, it was back in February 2016. That's how long this lasted me.. a year and a half! I didn't use it frequently, just because I didn't find it as hydrating for my skin as I do with TheFaceShop toners. This also had a strong scent, and it didn't feel like it did much for me. I wouldn't repurchase.

GlamGlow - Supermud Clearing Treatment
This seemed like a clay mask. I got to use it once, put it away, and it dried out. So, I didn't get to finish it. I wouldn't repurchase a full size, because they are much too expensive for what it is.

Tatcha - Pure - One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil
I really liked this cleansing oil. It didn't leave behind a greasy film, it removed makeup without stinging the eyes. I wouldn't repurchase it though, just because it's very expensive. $18 Canadian for 24mL or $58 Canadian for 150mL. But I really enjoyed it!

L'Oreal - Revitalift - Bright Reveal - Brightening Peel Pads
I got about halfway through this jar, and the pads dried out. They had a strong alcohol scent, and were for exfoliating your face. I prefer using an actual aha instead of the pads, just because it feels less damaging to your skin. I wouldn't repurchase these. They were also from another Influenster campaign.

Drunk Elephant - Lala Retro Whipped Cream
This was a whipped cream, just as the name suggests. It felt nice on the skin, and hydrating. Would I purchase a full size? No. It didn't seem to add anything special to my skin, and pilled a little under foundation, so I would pass on repurchasing.

Drunk Elephant - C-Firma Day Serum
I did a review on the mini sized products here. I don't regularly use Vitamin C in my skincare routine, so I thought it would be a good time to try. This serum smells, really bad. The scent would linger on my skin throughout the whole day, even on my hands, even after washing them continuously with soap and water. It left an orange tinge, and I just didn't notice any improvements from this. I won't be repurchasing a full size.

Drunk Elephant - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel
This was also in the same review here. I liked this hydration gel. It felt nice on the skin, and took very little time to absorb into the skin. Is it worth the $65 Canadian price tag? I don't think so. While it felt nice on the skin, I'd rather spend a little less on something that does the same thing.

Laneige - Water Bank Moisture Cream
This was a lighter cream. I would use it at night, layered with other products to lock in the moisture. It did feel nice on the skin, and I would possibly consider repurchasing it. Since it was on the thinner side for consistency, I could wear it under my makeup as well, without having to worry about it pilling.

Laneige - Water Bank Serum
This serum added a nice hydration to my skin. As soon as I applied it, my skin felt quenched. It's $46 Canadian for the full size, which is kind of pricey, but you get 2 oz which is a lot compared to other companies. I'm on the fence about repurchasing it.

Etude House - Moistfull Super Collagen Cream
I had a full size jar of this stuff in the past, and I wasn't a big fan of it. This time it seemed like it was more of a gel than a cream. I used it at night. It wasn't amazing, and I wouldn't repurchase this.

Sephora - Honey Sleeping Mask
I really love these sleeping masks from sephora. They come in a large selection of types, such as rose, honey, lotus, etc. Which target different types of skin. I try and pick those that are hydrating, nourishing, or brightening. They are a nice little product to buy when you just need a few extra dollars for free shipping or a promo. You can get quite a few uses out of a little pod. I've already repurchased a few extras.

Tarte - Maracuja C-Brightener Eye Treatment
I really liked this eye cream. It was creamy, and seemed to have some of the maracuja oil in it as well. I didn't notice that it brightened my under eye area at all, but it did help to remove some dry patches I had under my eyes. I would consider repurchasing it in the future.

Dr. Roebuck's - Pure
This face cream is thick! I like thicker night creams, but I found that this one kind of just sits on the top of my skin, and doesn't fully absorb. It makes the previous products I applied lift off my skin, even if I have let them sit for over an hour. I have another tube that I'm using up now, and once it's gone, I will be glad. I was disappointed in this one because it sounded like it would really work for my dry skin!

Younique - BB Flawless Complexion Enhancer (Multitasking Hydrating Tinted BB Cream)
I hated this BB cream. It was so watery, and didn't seem to leave any tint on my skin at all. It didn't matter how I applied it, it would always look patchy. This isn't empty but I can't make it work, and I'm sick of it taking up room in my makeup bag. So, I'm tossing it.

Bath and Body Works - Foaming Hand Soap in Twisted Peppermint
I actually finished this specific hand soap a few months ago, but I started to pour the Modere hand soap into it, with some water, to make it foamy as well. I love the foaming hand soaps from Bath and Body Works, and I already have repurchased. They were pretty cheap last year so I stocked up.

Modere - Hand Wash Cleanse
Not a fan of this hand soap. It didn't lather nicely, even when used with water in the foaming hand soap bottle. I feel like every time I used this, it caused a rash in between some of my fingers, so I'm glad to see this finally go.

Lush - Bubble Bar in Peeping Santa
I love Lush bubble bars, and I especially love this Peeping Santa! It smells like strawberries, and can be used multiple times if broken up. I have 3 more in my stash, I stocked up on a couple during the BOGO event after Christmas. I love it!

Scentsy Layers - Shower Gel in Honeymoon Hideaway
A few years ago, Scentsy announced they were discontinuing their body products (which they just announced will be back in the Fall..) so I bought a ton of shower gels. I still have a lot left, so I'm slowly making my way through them all. This scent was very nice, it was tropical sort of. The shower gel itself lathers great, and I really like it. I still have to get through more, but I will probably repurchase some of the newer scents in the future.

Vaseline - Intensive Care - Dry Skin Repair Body Lotion
This was just your standard body lotion. Nothing amazing about it. Worked well enough. I won't be repurchasing though because I have so many others to get through.

Scentsy Wax Bars
Ode to Opulence
Lavish your senses with the sweet, evocative aroma of apricot, blood orange, coconut milk, black currant and spiced vanilla.
This is a lovely scent, really dark and fruity. I'm kind of sad I finished it! If it comes back in the fall, I will be repurchasing.

A delicious tropical banana mixed with coconut milk and island vanilla, reminiscent of banana-flavored taffy.
This is a sweet banana scent, with a light coconut scent as well. It's creamy, and I wouldn't say that its similar to a candy banana scent. It's definitely more subtle and creamy. This has been discontinued but I really like it and would repurchase it in the future if it were to be brought back.

Summer Soleil
Pineapple and coconut milk top fluffy vanilla marshmallow.
I liked this one, but it smells really similar to the huge brick of Pineapple Coconut Vanilla that I purchased a few months ago. It's based off of the No. 9 Body scents, and so I figured I would finish the bar off because the brick is huge. I did like it though!

Strawberry Swirl
Blissfully sweet and creamy, Strawberry Swirl whips together frozen strawberry, frothy milk and vanilla.
I really liked this scent, however, I guess because mine is really old, it started to separate, and lose the strawberry scent. So I used it up so it wouldn't go bad any longer. I would consider repurchasing this scent though in the future!

Ion - Repair Solutions - Deep Daily Conditioning Treatment
After toning my hair a few times this month, and going to get it re-bleached, I decided I should probably pamper my hair with some deep conditioning. I really liked this one! It made my hair feel hydrated and smooth, and so soft! I need to do some research and see how much a full size sells for!

Hair One - Hair Masque with Olive Oil
These were 99 cents at Sally's Beauty Supply, and I used one up the month before. I'm not a big fan, I'd rather spend the extra 50 cents and get the Ion deep repair mask instead. I won't be repurchasing this.

Monat - Replenish Masque
I had a full size of this, and another in my drawer. It is nice, and makes the hair feel soft. It's pricey for what it is, I'd rather spend the money on the Ion mask, or Amika.

Face Masks
I didn't get through a lot of sheet masks again this month. I really need to work on that more. Anyway, these were all nice masks. The two biobelle fit well enough, although the pur-lisse really fits my face the best. All 4 of them were hydrating, and I wore them for over an hour each.

So this month I managed to finish 31 products! That works out to be one a day! I'm really happy with that, and hoping August will be even better. Like I mentioned above, I'm really trying to finish my deluxe sized samples, so hopefully I will get through even more in August.
