Sephora Favorites: Give Me Some Nude Lip

Every so often, Sephora will release different kits. These are named Sephora Favorites, and can contain different products. I've ordered a Sephora Favorites- Quench Your Skin skincare kit in the past, and another of Sephora Favorites- Trending: Beauty's Most Coveted, which contained popular makeup products. This time, the Sephora Favorites is based on all nude lip products! After seeing so many raves about this kit, I decided to order one for myself!

First off, how cute is that box! It's shaped like lips! Perfect for the type of kit it is! This was actually $33 Canadian, and claims to have an $82 Canadian value!

So this Sephora Favorites set contained 6 lip products, and only 1 is full size.

Swatches! From left to right we have Too Faced, Marc Jacobs, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Nars, Urban Decay and Tarte. I will go into more detail of each lip product below, along with pictures of how it looks on me.

Too Faced - Lip Injection Glossy in Spice Girl (Pink Nude)
This moisture-rich gloss is infused with Too Faced’s bestselling Lip Injection formula to create the long-term, plumped lip look. Infused with botanicals like jojoba and avocado oil, it helps soften and smooth your lips.

This goes on smooth but it's very clear on my lips, as you will see below. It feels nice on your lips, until the "lip injection" aspect comes in. Boy, does it ever BURN. Burns and tingles. I didn't notice too much of a plumping effect, but this hurts on the lips.

Marc Jacobs - Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lipgloss in Sugar Sugar (Champagne Gold Shimmer)
Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer lip gloss delivers maximum color and brilliance with its unique Triple Shine Complex, a blend of high-performance ingredients that provide unstoppable wear and shine like "30 coats of lacquer." The brilliant shine contributes to an optical plumping look. And, Enamored feels cushiony on the lips, never sticky. This mint-scented lip gloss collection features a profusion of creamy pinks, shimmering lavenders, and iridescent brights that give lips a lush look with lasting color and unbelievable shine.

I actually really liked this one. As soon as I saw it in person, I thought "oh no, that's going to be concealer lips" but because it is a gloss, it doesn't look as pale on the lips. It can be built up to be more pigmented, or lightly applied to give just a little bit of colour. This would also be good to use to ombre lips, or lighten a lipstick that might be too dark.

Here is the Too Faced - Lip Injection Glossy in Spice Girl on. As you can see, it's a very sheer gloss.

And here is Marc Jacobs - Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lipgloss in Sugar Sugar. I could see myself reaching for this very often! Not a typical colour I would go for!

Anastasia Beverly Hills - Lipgloss in Kristen (Cool Desert Sand)
This ultra-smooth, weightless formula combines the intensity of a stain with the mirror-like shine of a gloss. The flat, sponge-tip applicator delivers multidimensional pigment neatly and precisely. Wear it alone or layer with lipstick to create a custom look.

This is also pretty pigmented for a gloss. I will say I was disappointed to see this in person. The Sephora Favorites picture makes it look much more pink, and in person is a lot more brown... perhaps a toffee sort of colour. Which isn't bad, but it wasn't what I was expecting. It feels nice on the lips.

Nars Cosmetics - Velvet Lip Glide in Bound (Rose Pink)
This highly-saturated lip color combines covetable comfort and confident shades in one smooth move. Its wand coats like a lipstick, yet glides on like a gloss. The finish is semi-matte, long-lasting, and non-drying for luscious, vibrant lips. Water lily flowers and white tea extract are infused into this hybrid lip glide for antioxidant protection and ultimate hydration.

This looks a touch mauve in the packaging, and maybe a little on my arm swatch... but is it ever beautiful! It looks more like a lipstick on the lips, but it feels soft. I was really happy with this one!

This is Anastasia Beverly Hills - Lipgloss in Kristen. Although on my arm it looks like a toffee colour, my lip colour seems to come through and it looks less brown. If I don't apply it heavy-handed, then I could see myself wearing this often as well.

And Nars Cosmetics - Velvet Lip Glide in Bound. I just love this colour! I love the pink undertone, I love the formula. I could see myself purchasing this in a full size version, and possibly other shades in the future!

Urban Decay - Vice Liquid Lipstick in Trivial (Matte Pink Nude)
Get lasting wear, highly-pigmented color that will not transfer with Vice Liquid Lipstick. Like Urban Decay’s original formula, it saturates lips with color and its comfortable, nondrying wear sets it apart from other liquid lipsticks.

This does dry down matte, but it also has a sheen/shimmer in the formula. It wears very comfortably, and isn't drying like some matte liquid lipsticks feel. I was impressed by how comfortable it was, because it felt like nothing on the lips.

Tarte - Lippie Lingerie Matte Lip Tint in Revealed (Light Mocha)
Slip into something comfortable with this smooth, matte lip tint in natural-looking shades. The buildable, full-coverage formula features a luscious, lip-loving™ blend of mango seed, cupuacu, and murumuru butters to help firm, hydrate, and protect lips as the twist-up tint glides on like a velvety balm. The non-drying, super-soft formula features a range of soft and deep-toned nudes to take your look from subtle to show-stopping.

There is nothing light about this lip colour - at least to me. Maybe more of a milk chocolate, with a brick undertone. I found it a little too dark, and because it's like a super-sized crayon, I found it hard to apply nicely.

This is Urban Decay - Vice Liquid Lipstick in Trivial. I will say I like the colour, I like how matte it dries, and how comfortable it feels... but I don't like the sheen in the lipstick. I will wear it though because it's pretty! It was also the only full size lip product in the kit.

And finally, Tarte - Lippie Lingerie Matte Lip Tint in Revealed. As you can see it's a fairly dark colour that's a chocolate-brick sort of colour. At least that's how it pulls on me. I'm not really happy with it so I probably won't wear it. It also isn't matte, it's very creamy and pigmented. This would look better on someone with some colour on their skin - unlike me.

So overall, I am happy with this set. The only two products I'm not a big fan of is the Too Faced Lip Injection gloss because it HURTS, and then the Tarte Lippie Lingerie because the colour just doesn't work for me. I'm really happy with the Nars and Urban Decay, and was surprised with how much I liked the Marc Jacobs and Anastasia lip products. For $33 Canadian, you get a good colour selection, and it might even get you out of your "normal" nude colours. I tend to stick to pinky-nudes, and these get me out of my comfort zone!

As of the date of posting (June 28th) the Sephora Favorites - Give Me Some Nude Lip set is out of stock. But I've seen it available as of a few days ago, so set an email reminder! Like other Sephora Favourite kits, you get a good value worth of products!
