Playing with Makeup - Holiday Edition!

I've never really done this type of post before, but I need to start branching out from just subscription boxes! I love doing reviews on beauty products, so I will never stray from that, but it's time to add some new types of posts! Especially since we're really close to the New Year! For December 2016 the featured brand for Canadian Beauty Bloggers is Tarte! I decided to incorporate some Tarte products that I own, and create a holiday look.

I'm going to start off by saying that I'm still not the greatest at eyeshadow looks. I tend to stick to one basic type of eye, and change up the colours! That's definitely something that I want to work on in the New Year!

I decided to pull out the Tarte x Grav3yard Girl Swamp Queen palette. I knew I wanted to use some gold shadow, and with CBB featuring Tarte, this was a great choice. I also decided on Becca x Jaclyn Hill - Champagne Pop as my highlighter, because gold = holidays! A Younique beachfront bronzer in sunset, and Tarte - Amazonian Clay Blush in Unstoppable which was a part of the Intro to Tarte Deluxe Discovery set that I received from the Sephora Black Friday sale.

For my face, I primed it with Smashbox Primer Water, I really love this stuff! It keeps my skin feeling hydrated, and it doesn't have that silicone feeling like some primers do have. I also use this as a setting spray. I decided to use my Nars - Sheer Glow Foundation, which I have in shade 2 Mont Blanc. I think I should have bought Siberia (the lightest shade) when I originally purchased this, but I usually can make it work! And last but not least - Tarte - Shape Tape in Fair Beige. This was my first time using this concealer, and I intend on doing a full review soon!

And last but not least, my beloved Jesse's Girl liquid liner in black. I really love this stuff! I did however get the Kat Von D tattoo liner in that Sephora's Most Coveted Set, which I really can't wait to use! I think the Jesse's Girl is very close to being done, so I will be able to try the KVD soon! I also took a picture with two different lipsticks. One being Tarte - Living (also from the Intro to Tarte Deluxe Discovery set) and the other Bite Beauty Luminous Creme in Kir Royale, which was from the Sephora Birthday Perk last year! So let's see what I came up with!

In this picture, I decided to use Tarte lipstick in Living, which is a nude mauve. These tend to pull a little brown on me.

For my eyes I used:
1. Uncommon (purple slate) in the crease, very lightly, and blended out
2. Sassy Bun (copper peach) all over my lid. I made sure to pat it on for it to definitely be noticeable
3. Mancat (deep plum) in the outer corner, just in a small v, blended out. I also used a little bit of this for the outer half of my lower lash line
4. Gator Wings (highlighter) and Big Baby (cream) mixed together, and placed on the inner corners of my eye, and a little dab on the first third of my inner eyelid
5. Becca x Jaclyn Hill - Champagne Pop in the inner corners of my eyes (on top of the highlighter/cream) and also on the inner half of my lower lash line

I finished it off with Jesse's Girl black liquid liner, and L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara (which I forgot to include in my first picture - but I received it with my RachhLoves Fall Favourites limited edition topbox)

And lastly, here is the same eye look, but with Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Kir Royale.

Surprisingly, I really like the look better with Kir Royale! I've always been afraid to wear a shade like this, but I like it!

Ps - If you follow me on Instagram, then you would have seen that I recently got balayage done in my hair! It is pulling a little more yellow/orange then I would like, so I just picked up a blue/purple shampoo. Fingers crossed it works! Oh yeah! If you also haven't noticed, I've recently got a new domain name! I'm officially! Yay! :) And to go along with that, I've opened up a Facebook page. I haven't set it all up yet, but if you'd like to like the page, you can do so here!

I hope you all have a happy holiday season!
