Ipsy - November 2016

My Ipsy glam bag came today, and I have to say, I'm very happy with it. Which is surprising because Ipsy is usually one of those subscription bags/boxes where I'm happy with some products, but never all of them.

The theme for the month of November is Rockstarlet, so lets take a look at everything I got!

The bag itself is cute! It's a dark blue with different cosmetic items printed on it, like brushes, palettes and lipglosses. Also lots of stars! The print could come in gold or silver and I received mine with silver print. The inside of the bag is also silver, and the zipper pull is in a shape of a star with Ipsy stamped on it.

I think I received a good variety of products, that I will definitely use! I like months like these.

Tarte Cosmetics - Maracuja Oil
Oils can seem scary (um hello! who wants to look greasy?!) but this multitasker left our skin quenched, nourished, and dewy—not shiny. You'll want to have a bottle on you at all times.

  • Packed with complexion heroes like skin-brightening Vitamin C and repairing fatty acids
  • Use it for a zillion other things like frizz-fighting, on-the-go manis, makeup removal
Oils are always welcomed by me. Yes they take some time to get through, so I try my best not to open them until I know it's time for me to fully use them. They are great to add to foundations, skincare, or you can even use them in your hair. I do have another sample of this one that I haven't tried yet, so it will be going into rotation once I finish up my Nude oil (which is SO CLOSE to being finished!)

Naobay - Natural and Organic - Renewal Antiox Eye Contour Cream
Eyes wide open. Soothing cinnamon extract and fermented resveratrol from grape skins boost circulation to give us a youthful and incredibly awake look.

  • No weird smells here. Refreshingly fragrance free.
  • Great for the girl on-the-go. Goes on smooth and absorbs quickly.
  • 98.89% of ingredients are from natural origin
Eye cream is something that I really need to get into the habit of using. I usually use it for a few days, then forget it. Then pick it up again and use it again for a few days, and forget again. I think the problem for me is that I don't see a difference, although I know it's doing something good for that area on my face. This will get used.

Leaders Cosmetics USA - Aloe Soothing Renewal Mask and Aquaringer Treatment Mask
Our two go-to complexion cures for the winter blues. The aloe mask calms irritation caused by the weather, while the Aquaringer version drenches dry, tight skin in moisture thanks to natural alps glacier water.

  • A desert oasis. Cactus extracts in the aloe mask add extra hydration.
  • Young at heart. The Aquaringer mask smooths out fine lines and wrinkles with adenosine, an anti-aging ingredient that helps cells produce more collagen and elastin.
  • Comfort is key. Soft cotton fabric fits snugly against the face.
I also love sheet masks, so these are always welcomed in my monthly bags (although I don't need more after that FaceShop haul I did last week!) They are always a great way to relax and just an extra bonus step that your skin will love! I will do a little review on these when I get a chance to use them!

Elizabeth Mott - Color is Bae Lip Lacquer in Moxie Mauve
We casually swiped on this liquid lipstick before an early AM meeting. Three coffees, a messy sandwich, and a serious makeout sesh later (stop judging us) and it was still perfectly intact. Also fab: the formula dries as a satin finish, but doesn’t leave lips parched.
ipsters who will receive Color is Bae Lip Lacquer in their Glam Bag will receive either Red Chili or Moxie Mauve:

  • Red Chili: Super pigmented true red
  • Moxie Mauve: A universally flattering pinky-nude
So when I saw I was getting this, I was afraid I would be getting the red chili shade, but I actually received the moxie mauve colour, and that makes me happy. The colour is really pretty, but I will say I'm not a fan of the formula.

It is just your standard doe foot applicator. I think this will be good to throw into my purse and use it when I need some colour on my lips.

It's very neutral on the lips, which I don't mind. But the formula seems a little oily/watery. It goes on a little sheer and not very pigmented, so it needs to be built up.

theBalm Cosmetics - Mad Lash Mascara
So flexible, we think it’s been doing yoga. One of the most bendy wands we’ve ever laid eyes on, it moves easily to hug each and every lash.

  • Curved brush gives uber volume and lift.
  • The tip of the wand is ideally designed to get at even the tiniest of lashes.
  • Into the deep. Rich black shade brings out our dramatic side.
I believe there were two mascaras going out this month, and were shown in a sneak peek. It was this mascara, as well as a Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. I would have preferred the BTS mascara, but it's okay. Either way, the wand on this seems very flexible, so we will see how well it applies!

Overall, I really liked this month of Ipsy products. This is a first in awhile!
