July 2016 - Empties

Wow! Can you believe July is over already? It feels as if time is going by so quickly! Another end of the month, means another batch of empties! I always get so excited when it's time for empties. I like seeing what I have used up!

I didn't get through as many products as I hoped I would, but you know, any progress is something! I keep buying more and more and often items get forgotten. So it's good to see some items being used up.

JLo - Glow Perfume
I hate to admit this, but I have had this perfume since I was in high school. Which is like 12+ years ago. Damn, that makes me feel old lol. Anyway, this was the first scent that Jennnifer Lopez had released and surprisingly, it didn't turn bad. I was always on and off with this scent (like I am with most of the perfumes I have - I like to switch them up!) That being said, this scent often reminded me of soap. It wasn't something I constantly reach for so I decided it was time to finally get through it. It's amazing how long perfume can last! The notes in this one is described as neroli, pink grapefruit, rose, sandalwood, amber, musk, jasmine, iris and vanilla. While I did enjoy it on and off for so many years, I can't see myself repurchasing this.

Jesse's Girl - Liquid Liner in Black
This is my all time favourite liner. It has a brush tip and it's just so easy to use. This is a drug store brand in the US, so I had to order it online. The formula doesn't run under your eyes and the black is so vivid. I have a back up ready to go, and once that one starts to go, I will be ordering more!

Paula's Choice - Resist C15 Super Boost
This is a vitamin c serum. I believe I got it in a past birchbox. I've seen many good reviews about Paula's Choice online so I was excited to try it. Well apparently this stuff has a very fast life. I opened it and used it a few times, kinda forgot about it, and it turned a darker orange colour and had a weird scent to it. There was a little left but I decided to toss it, as something that looks and smells like that probably isn't good for your face. I can't comment on the effectiveness because I didn't use it frequently enough for it to change my skin.

Younique - Mineral Touch Liquid Foundation in Organza
I think I purchased this about a year ago, whenever they first released it. They were making some bold claims about this foundation, so I had to try it. It comes as a dropper bottle, which was strange to me, I prefer a pump. The shade I purchased was the lightest colour they offered, and it was very very yellow toned, which doesn't work for me. The finish is very matte, and almost powdery but never really fully dried down for me. As you can see the bottle, the formula had separated and pretty much did that every time. This wasn't as high coverage as I thought it would be. Overall, I wasn't too impressed with this foundation. Too matte for my skin, even with a primer and oil mixed in, and it just wouldn't match my skin tone. I tried to hold onto it and see if it would change my mind, but I just hated it each time I used it. And this time I pulled it out, it was so separated, it easily made up my mind to toss it. Save your money and purchase a foundation from Sephora. This stuff was expensive for what it was.

Josie Maran - Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment
This was just a foil packet, but I got quite a few uses out of it. It had the consistency somewhere between a serum and an emulsion. It was on the thinner side and creamy like milk but with added Argan oil. I used this in-between my serum and emulsion night time steps and I really liked the added hydration. I need to look into this for a full size!

Naobay - Natural and Organic Oxygenating Cream Moisturizing
This was just an average face lotion. I didn't find it to do anything amazing. I used it most days under foundation. I wouldn't repurchase it.

Solo Care Aqua - All in One Contact Lens Solution
You have seen this a few times on here so I won't go too much in detail. This is our favourite contact lens solution. It's moisturizing and keeps my contacts clean and hydrated. We usually pick up a double pack.

Younique - Shine Eye Makeup Remover Wipes
I've used these before in the past and liked them. They are a little more on the oily side but they do a good job removing makeup and I use them on my whole face. They aren't too dry or over saturated. They are more on the pricey side, so I probably wont be repurchasing unless a friend needs help reaching a goal.

Bioderma - Sensibio H2O - Micellar Water
I received this sample size from my lucky bag in the beginning of the year and I have to say I loved it! It's such a gentle way to remove your makeup. What I usually do is cleanse my face with the oil cleanser and then another cleanser at night, and then just go over my face with a cotton pad afterwards to be sure all of my makeup Has come off. I Also use it in the morning instead of washing my face that way I'm not stripping all of the oils off my face. It's very gentle and does a great job. It also doesn't have a scent and doesn't leave any sticky residue. I would definitely consider purchasing a full size in the future. Right now, I'm testing the garnier version.

Burt's Bees - Cleansing Oil
I believe I got this as a point redemption from Ipsy when I cancelled my subscription. This did a great job at removing my makeup at night. Except one day I dropped it and the lid snapped off and water got inside so it became useless. I contacted Burt's Bees and they sent me a $5 off coupon so I may consider repurchasing the full size. It was around $20 at Shoppers when I first found it, but hopefully Walmart carries it for a little cheaper. But as I said above, it did a great job removing my makeup, and it didn't leave an oily residue on my skin.
