February 2016 - Ipsy Glambag [Review]

This is it. This is my final Ipsy bag. I cancelled my account again at the beginning of February. I think it's time to let it go for good as well. When I originally signed up, it was great. But over the past year or so, I feel the bags have gone down hill and they really don't even try to personalize them anymore. Which shouldn't be a big deal, but don't advertise that you will match people, if you really won't. Also, the Canadian dollar is not so good, and paying $21 a month for this, just isn't worth it in my opinion. That $21 can go to a full size, or high-end product instead! Here's a look at my final glam bag.

As we see from the card, the theme is "Pretty In #IpsyPink"
The bag itself is pretty cute, and I can see myself using this. The back is pink. I kinda wish the lifted area of the bag were sequins or those glittery nub things.. haha, I don't know what they are called.

So let's take a look inside.  If you saw my sneak peek post, then you would know that I wasn't happy with what I was getting inside this bag.

Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer Oil
I was a little meh about this when I saw I was getting it. I'm not a fan of primers, for whatever reason, whenever I use one, I feel it doesn't work. Maybe it's just what I've tried is not the greatest. I don't know. But anyway, since this is an oil, I feel it might work better for my super dry skin. I'm looking forward to giving this a try, and hopefully it will help with the dry skin and not getting patchy when I apply my foundation.

Seraphine Botanicals - Carrot + Rose Hydrating Cream
I haven't even opened this yet because I have so many creams already opened laying around. I'm not sure how it smells but I wouldn't use this on my face. This will get used as a hand/body cream eventually.

Luxie Beauty - Small Tapered Blending Eye Brush
Nothing exciting here. I also haven't opened it up, but it will end up in my brush collection. Nothing exciting.

For the next two items, I took a swatch photo, so I will show that first and then write my opinion.

Chella - Lipstick Pencil in Passionate Pink
I was so so angry to see this in person and in my sneak peek. The pencil itself looks ORANGE. There is nothing pink about this on the packaging, or photo. However, once I swatched it, I was very surprised. It IS pink! Ha - who knew? Anyway, I like the shade. It's not very moisturizing on the lips though. But I'll use it up. It has decent staying power (if you don't eat or drink anything)

Naked Cosmetics - Mica Pigment in Sierra Nevada #02
So this is just a champagne coloured pigment. Again, nothing special. It was VERY loose in powder, and SO SO glittery. Ugh. I'm a fan of shimmer eyeshadows, but this was like, pure glitter. It's messy, and lots of fall out. I kind of wish I didn't swatch it because I don't think I will ever use it.

I also redeemed what was left of my Ipsy Points. I really have no intentions of ever signing up again, and knowing there are no points on my account, make it easier to avoid going back.

LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask (for all skin)
I've heard amazing things about this sleep mask. I've also heard great things about laneige. So I'm super excited to give this a try! I'm trying to finish off my TonyMoly Banana Sleep Mask (which seems like it's never ending!) and then I will give this one a try! So excited!

Marula - Pure Beauty Oil - Foaming Cleansing Oil
I like cleansing oils over traditional cleansers, but I use both. Anyway, the one I'm using now, I'm not a huge fan of - which reminds me I need to get a review up about it. I purchased another Banila Co - Clean It Zero, but I will be giving this Marula cleanser a try inbetween when I finish the one I'm using now, and the Banila Co cleanser. I've never heard of this before, but it never hurts to try something new!

I'm more excited to try the items I got with my points then I am about the bag itself.. haha. It was time to let Ipsy go, and never look back, and this bag I feel really helps with that decision. I ended up subscribing to two more subscriptions.. now that Birchbox is gone, and Ipsy is a fail.. I needed something to fill that void. I signed up for Topbox (which is Canadian.. yay!) and Luxebox, which is only sent every three months.
