The Face Shop - Olive Mask [Review]

This weeks mask was... Olive!

I just pulled out the first mask on the top of my pile, and it just so happened to be the olive mask. Which is fine, because my face is craving some added moisture!

Warming Wednesday! - What's in your warmer?!

Here we go! Week two of this new "segment" of my blog. If you missed last week, this was what I was warming! I detailed my warmers, and the scents I was using. This week I will focus only on the scents because I only have two warmers, and it wouldn't make sense to constantly talk about them.

February 23, 2015

It's almost been a month since I posted my last Empties post, I finally have some more products added up. It's not a lot, but I've been making a dent in the items that I do have, which is the whole point to this empties thing. I find making these posts really encourage me to use up older products instead of rushing out and trying the newest thing. As exciting as it is to try new products, unfortunately my wallet can't handle it!

Here we go!

Aveeno - Positively Radiant Cleanser
What I loved about this cleanser, was that it was so gentle on my skin. It didn't overly foam, and wasn't overly creamy. It was the perfect consistency for my dry skin. I believe this one says it has soy extracts,  I had previously tried it from a friend, and decided to buy one for myself. I really like it, and I will repurchase it, once I get through the pile of other cleansers I need to get through! Apparently this is older packaging. I've had this for awhile.

Natura - Make Up Remover Tissues
I did a review for these back in November, I believe. I hated them. They were thin, rough, and just not comfortable to use. They were like using damp dryer sheets. I haven't seen them for sale anywhere else, and even if I did, I definitely wouldn't buy them again. Never again.

Softsoap - Moisturizing Body Wash with Moisture Beads
This body was is in the scent Juicy Pomegranate and Mango. And while I LOVE the many different scents that Softsoap has, there is something in this particular body wash that gives me hives. I'm not sure if it is the beads or what, but no matter what scent I try, with these beads, I get little itchy bumps, especially on my arms. I've been using other brands without this issue. This was the last of a few bottles we had purchased because they were on sale. I will probably repurchase, only because they go on sale for a good price, and other people use this in my house.

GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment
I believe this came in my bag of samples from my Sephora purchase awhile back. I really liked the tinglexfoliant mask, so I couldn't wait to try this one out. It says you can use it as a mask, or a spot treatment, and I ended up using it as a mask. I didn't feel or see much of a difference in my skin after using it, but I guess it's hard to try when you only get one use out of a sample. Anyway, I wouldn't purchase it, just because I preferred the Tinglexfolaint mask, and it's pricey.

Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil
I picked this up awhile ago from Sephora because my skin is always in need of some moisture. I read online that you could use it on your hair, your face, your skin, and it would be beneficial and add more moisture to those areas. On its own, this does pretty much nothing for me. There isn't really a scent to it, and it can be a little greasy, but I don't mind that as much as other people do. I wouldn't repurchase this because it is pricey, and I've been adding it to my moisturizers. I haven't noticed anything different with my skin, and it feels just as dry, so this one didn't work for me.

Shiseido Benefiance Balancing Softener
I loved this softener. I received this sample a few years ago with a gift with purchase. Every so often I will pull it out and use it. My best skin days were when I used this with my Shiseido Benefiance Revitalizing Cream, which has been discontinued, and I've never been able to find something that works as well for my skin. I won't stop complaining about that either, so Shiseido, PLEASE bring it back to Canada and the US. Anyway, I'd repurchase this, just because it's so gentle on my skin, and it is more moisturizing than your typical toner.

Batiste Dry Shampoo [Review]

**I received this for free in exchange for my honest review**

I received this travel sized Batiste Dry Shampoo from Chick Advisor for free, in exchange for my honest review.

I was so surprised with this dry shampoo. The clean and classic scent is exactly that. It smells clean, and it isn't overpowering. It's a light fresh scent, that doesn't bother me at all.

February 2015 - Ipsy Glambag! [Review]

#ipsyLove was the theme for February's glam bag, and what a perfect theme - although somewhat expected because of Valentine's Day. No complaints here though - I love pink, and hearts, and all that other stuff.

As you can see, the bag will be pink, with a somewhat diamond pattern. Let's see what I got this month...

Exciting Scentsy News!

Hey everyone!

If you follow my blog, then you would see in my "empties" posts, I use up some Scentsy bars.

I've actually been a huge fan of Scentsy since 2012 when I first purchased a warmer and 3 wax bars - and ever since then, I've been hooked! The wax melts are amazing, they also have a body line called layers and a laundry line as well. So not only can your house smell phenomenal, so can your clothes and YOU!

The huge 30 pound box of goodies I received!
I just signed up to be an Independent Scentsy Consultant as of today! I'm very excited for this journey! If you're in Canada, the United States or Mexico, and are interested in finding more out about Scentsy, or ordering something wonderful for yourself (or as a gift) please visit my link at the bottom of the post, and I would love to help you out!

Testers! (There were even more not pictured!)

Some more goodies inside my starter kit!

I was also sent this "Henna" warmer - I just didn't want to open it up!

I think I'm going to add a section to my blog to share what I'm warming that day! (It won't be everyday of course - that's a little much)

Thank you to everyone who checks this out!

The Face Shop - Mask Haul!

I'm still fairly new to the facial mask world. The first mask I tried was in the summer, and it was the Glam Glow Tinglexfoliant mask. I got it in an Ipsy bag, and I loved it. I actually was able to stretch the sample for a few months. Next up I tried the Freeman Beauty - Acai Facial Purifying Clay Mask which I also really enjoyed, and I am still using up. I also recently tried the Boscia Luminizing Black Mask (which I still need to keep testing and write my review on) that I got as a 100 point perk from Sephora.

But what I really wanted to try - was a Korean sheet mask. I see these everywhere in the blog world, and I just couldn't resist anymore. There are so many types and positive reviews, that I gave in and placed an order.

I won! - Probelle Facebook Contest

When I first got "Into the Blue" in my January Ipsy bag, I was unsure if I was going to use it. The colour seemed a little too out there for my fingernails, so I was hesitant to try it. I saw many people post some photos on instagram, and I thought - why not just give it a try? So that's what I did, and I was so surprised.

Live Clean Fresh Face Products [Review]

If you have been following my blog, then you know that I am on a mission to find a better moisturizer for my face. These past few months, it seems as if something works for a short period of time, and then my skin just goes back to being so dry. I can't even apply foundation most days because it just makes me look so flaky, even if my skin doesn't look dry or flaky before applying. It's very frustrating. There was  Shiseido moisturizer that I used to buy a few years ago, and I just haven't been able to find anything that compares to how well it worked for me. They discontinued it and introduced another, but it doesn't come close to how well the previous worked for me. I'm on a mission to try other lines of their moisturizers, but I just don't have the funds right now. Although, buying one expensive moisturizer that works would be better than buying bunch of cheapies every few months.

Ipsy - February 2015 - Sneak Peeks!

It's that time of the month! Ipsy has released sneak peeks and here I am posting them!

We learned immediately (even on February 1st - which was a Sunday) what the theme was going to be for February... ipsyLOVE. Again, my glam room will be at the end of the post because Ipsy had early access. I said in January that I love that they do this, and I'm saying it again. You get extra points, and you don't have to wait around for the spoilers anymore - even though they are fun.

Nailed it!

It's been quite the eventful day at my house today. We were woken up early by a flood in our basement, which resulted in us pulling up our floors at 8am. It's just been hectic. I decided I needed to pamper myself after this long day, and took off some old polish.

I posted a few months ago that I wanted to start a section on this blog called "Nailed It!"... here I would share some of my "nail art" or just whatever colour of polish I was rocking during the week. Well, I didn't start it up like I wanted to. I decided that I would try and attempt some nail art tonight (if we could call it that) and share what I did, and what products I used.

For this look I used
- Color Club in I Believe In Amour
- Essie Lux Effects Set In Stone
- OPI Natural Base Coat and OPI Top Coat
- Sephora by OPI Celibacy Club (this was a part of the Glee mini collection from a few years ago)
- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in White On and Black Out

First I applied my base coat, then applied the pink (Color Club - I Believe In Amour) to my thumb, pointer finger and pinky. Next up I applied the white polish to my middle and ring fingers. Letting each coat dry inbetween, I applied another coat of the pink polish, then applied the Celibacy Club (Sephora by OPI mini) onto my ring finger (2 times). I then used an old bobby pin to apply little dots of the black and pink polish onto my middle finger.

I decided I wanted a little more sparkle so I used Essie Lux Effects in Set in Stones on top of both my middle and ring fingers. Once dry I added my top coat.

This was a super easy way to start incorporating "nail art" into my polish routine. I have another look in mind for Valentine's Day, so I will get that up for my next "Nailed It!" post!
