December 2014 - Ipsy Glambag! [Review]

It's that time, when I should do my Ipsy review.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas (if they celebrate) and good holidays! :)

The theme of the month was Thinking of You.

The bag itself can be used. It looks like it would be high quality, but the fabric isn't. I like the inside of the bag because its a deep burgundy. The tag on the zipper is kind of cheap, but it can be removed if you didn't want it on there. I left mine on because it doesn't really bother me. I put it in my purse and I've been using it.

I saw online that this was a fairly popular bag for the month of December. To be honest, I wasn't thrilled with what I got, I don't feel it matched my profile very well, but what can I do. I'm going to cancel either in January or February, I went and edited my quiz, so we'll see if that makes a difference for the New Year.

This month, all members got a Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara sample. I haven't tried it out yet because I have a million mascaras currently open, and I want to get through some of them before opening new ones and drying them out. I've heard great things about this one through, so I hope its good!

Everyone was also sent NYX Butter Lip Balm. Of ALL the colours they could have sent, they sent me an ugly nude colour. This is ugly on my skin tone, and I would NEVER choose this one for myself. It's called marshmallow, and I kind of expected it to smell like it too, except it smells fruity. The texture is nice and smooth, but I really wish I was sent a different colour. Any colour. Just not nude. I wear it in the dark because it's just hideous.

I also got this Beauty Without Cruelty Facial Cleanser (3% Alpha Hydroxy Complex) and I was actually kind of excited to try it. Until I saw that its for normal to oily skin types. ANOTHER FAIL on Ipsy's part. I've specified in my quiz that I have dry skin. I tried it out anyway, and my skin hated it. As soon as I washed it off my skin was tighter than normal, and it flaked. Boo. Maybe I can pass this onto someone else.

Next up, I got this Cailyn Eye Polish in the shade Orchid. It's okay looking in the package, more of a rose gold in person. I swatched it on my hand and saw that it was really shimmery, the colour looked okay on my hand. I tried it the next day on my eyes, and the colour was gross. It came out orange. Other people complained about this on the Makeup Talk forum as well, so I wasn't the only one that had this issue. The applicator as well is ridiculous.

Lastly we have this Style Sexy Hair 450* Blow Out. I haven't tried this yet, I fully intended to for Christmas, but it slipped my mind, I had so many other hair products I'm trying to use up. So I can't review this yet. I have seen good reviews about it though.

As you can see, Ipsy for me this month was not very good. I'm not sure how much use I will get out of any of these products. Such a disappointment. I was expecting much better products for Christmas, especially when they first mentioned "Haulidays" and glam.
