Boxycharm - August 2017

Boxycharm is a subscription box service, that sends full size and deluxe sample size items to you each month. I've noticed majority of the time, you will get full sized products, and you receive 5 each month. It is $21 USD a month, plus shipping. There are discounts if you sign up for 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months. I originally signed up for 3 months, and it renewed for another 3 months automatically. Everyone generally gets the same box each month, with a few variations such as lipstick colours. Or a lipstick vs lip gloss. That being said, let's take a look at what I received for my August Boxycharm!

The theme of the month for August is Beach Please.

I'm not quite sure what these products have to do with the beach (besides the Tarte palette having the word sea in it...) but they're all full size items! Awesome!

Tarte - Rainforest of the Sea - Volume II - Eyeshadow Palette (Retail Price: $36)
Crease-free eyeshadow palette with the best-selling creamy powder formula in eight, cool-toned shades.

This was the big item this month. Everybody wanted it, and everybody got it.

They look like very easy to use colours, easy to use together or on their own, which is perfect to me.

I have to say, I was really looking forward to this palette. But, it isn't the greatest quality. Even in the swatches you can see that it is patchy. Conch blends in with my skin and you can't see it at all. It advises to use your finger tips to apply, but I'm really not a fan of doing that. It does crease a lot. I've seen in Boxycharm group some mixed reviews. Some palettes have even less pigment than mine does, and others are beautifully pigmented. Anyway, I was disappointed in this one once I had it in my hands. The mirror size is great though!

Pur - Pro Eyelashes (Retail Price: $14)
Pur's 3D lashes are handcrafted with the finest luxury silk to provide ultra-lightweight, natural-looking, fuller lashes. These cruelty-free lashes are durable, reusable, and safe for contact wearers.

I don't ever wear false lashes, but I'm going to keep these on hand just incase I ever decide I want to wear them. They don't look too crazy.

BellaPierre - Waterproof Gel Eyeliner (Retail Price: $15)
Creamy, waterproof eyeliner for true definition that lasts all day. This liner glides on smoothly, and is formulated with pure minerals, natural waxes, and antioxidants - making them hypoallergenic and safe for all skin types.

I'm not a pencil liner person anymore. I try and go back and use them, and I don't like how un-pigmented they are compared to liquid liners. I'm going to give this a try, but probably not until my sample size of the Kat Von D Ink liner runs out.

Royal and Langnickel - Moda Pro - 3 Piece Brush Set (Retail Price: $26)
This Moda Pro 3-piece brush set, features a pointed blush, chisel blender and a crease brush. These brushes will achieve endless looks and can be used with both wet and dry products.

These brushes have some weight to them! They're sturdy, and are so soft. I've only given the pointed blush brush a try and I liked it. I'm not sure how much use I will get out of the chisel brush, and we can never have enough crease brushes!

The Beauty Crop - #GRLPWR Liquid Lipstick in Date Night (Retail Price: $14.95)
An intensely pigmented liquid lipstick that is life-proof with serious staying power! Enriched with shea butter and vitamin E, this lippie will give you comfortable wear for hours. It won't cake, flake, or dry out - empowering you to take on the day.

I like the formula on this liquid lipstick. It doesn't take long to dry down either. I will say, I'm not a fan of this colour on my lips.

As you can see, it kind of dries like an orange-brown on me. Which is a shame because I liked this! I still pull it out and wear it from time to time, but I'm not enjoying the colour.

Over all, the retail value of this box was $105.95, which is great when it costs $21 US to purchase! I like that Boxycharm is starting to include more name brands in their boxes, because it increases the value even more.
